Simplifying complex workflows in a high-density interface
The problem
• Too many actions competing for attention
• Dense, text-heavy interface
• Users relying on memory instead of recognition
• Daily tasks requiring unnecessary effort
• No clear hierarchy to guide action
What I changed
• Reorganized the layout to prioritize key actions
• Introduced visual hierarchy using color and spacing
• Replaced text-based navigation with icon-driven cues
• Grouped secondary actions into submenus
• Shifted from “show everything” to “guide attention”
Insight
Users weren’t confused, they were overloaded.
The interface made familiar tasks feel heavier than they should.
Impact
A clearer, more efficient interface that reduces cognitive load and allows users to complete tasks faster without relying on memory or trial-and-error.
The goal wasn’t to simplify the system, but to reduce the effort required to use it.
